Lacy Grocery Bag Holder

Materials: 1 Ball worsted weight yarn.

                  5mm DPN’S

                  5mm crochet hook

                  14” length of 1/4 in elastic

Cast on 50 sts and divide onto 3 dpn’s. (more in even numbers if you prefer a fuller bag).

Rnd 1: knit

Rnd 2: *yo, k2tog* repeat from * to * to end of rnd.

Rnd 3: knit  

Repeat rows 2 & 3 until bag measures 20” or desired length.

Cast off and darn in ends

With crochet hook chain 2 ties each 24inches long, or longer if you casted on extra stitches. Darn in ends.

 Cut the elastic into 2 7” pieces. Thread 1 through 4^th rnd from top and 1 through 4^th rnd from the bottom. Stitch ends of elastic securely. Thread a tie in same rnd as elastic.  

Join yarn to top of bag at the 4^th rnd and ch 10, join with sl st to beginning ch. Cut yarn and darn in ends securely.
